This workshop is designed to give you practice to share with students that is trauma-informed. We will share specific grounding, breathing, and progressive relaxation techniques to guide students in the moment. These activities could be used in a full classroom, in small groups, or individually. None of these activities require any special equipment, clothing, or set-up.
Employing the work of David Emerson from the Trauma Center in Brookline, MA., we will be sharing the language of inquiry and invitation for you to consider in this practice. Although no mat, yoga experience, or special clothing are necessary, you will have the opportunity to experience these strategies for accessing calm and relaxation in trauma-informed ways.
Emphasis will be placed on experience and practice in this workshop. You will receive scripts to use in your work and other resources to make immediate implementation possible.
